A shared text inbox for teams
The inbox shows one conversation per customer number. You can filter by Open, Unread, Mine or Closed, search, and assign a conversation to anyone who can text. Closed conversations reopen on their own when the customer writes back. Saved replies cover the questions you answer every day, and a counter shows characters and how many texts a message will use.
When a text comes in from a number Dheed does not know, it creates a contact and a lead with the source Text message, so new business from texts is tracked like any other lead in your CRM for service businesses. The assigned person, or the owners, get an email about new texts at most every 15 minutes per conversation.
Reminders that cut down on no shows
Reminders go out automatically from your field service scheduling software calendar. A customer can reply C to confirm, which marks the appointment as confirmed, or R to ask for a call back, which creates a high priority task. If an appointment changes, queued texts for the old time are dropped so nobody gets a wrong reminder.
Quiet hours are built in. Automatic texts wait between 9 PM and 8 AM in your time zone, and 2 hour reminders that would land in that window are skipped.
Text message consent, handled properly
Texting customers is only allowed when they agreed or texted you first. Dheed tracks text message consent on each contact as Agreed, Not asked or Said no, copied from the lead when they gave it. STOP replies block further texts, and every automatic template keeps the STOP line. Templates must start with your business name and cannot use link shorteners, which helps keep messages clear and compliant.
Carrier registration, step by step
Before a local number can send business texts, U.S. carriers require registration, often called a2p 10dlc registration. Dheed handles the steps for you:
- You add texting from Settings, Texting and pay the setup.
- Dheed creates your texting account and lets you pick a local number.
- Dheed submits your brand and campaign details for review.
- You get an email as each step is approved.
- Once approved, texting turns on.
Approval usually takes a few days to a few weeks. If your AI Receptionist uses the same number, calls keep working while the business texting software waits for approval. If a campaign is rejected, Dheed tells you why in plain language and replaces it.
Review requests on autopilot
Happy customers are most likely to leave a review right after the job. Dheed sends one review request per customer at most every 90 days, after a completed job or a paid invoice, with a delay you choose. Our guide on how to get more Google reviews for a local business has message templates you can paste in. Recurring service businesses, like cleaning business software users, can pair these with day before reminders for every visit.

Frequently asked questions
How much does business texting cost in Dheed?
Business texting is $50 a month and includes your number and 1,000 sent texts. Each extra 1,000 texts is $50. There is a one time $99 setup fee plus carrier registration fees at cost, and the carrier's monthly campaign fee. Incoming texts are free.
Why does business texting need carrier approval?
U.S. carriers require businesses to register before sending texts from a local number, a process often called A2P 10DLC. Dheed walks you through it and checks the status for you. Approval usually takes a few days to a few weeks.
Can my whole team reply from the same number?
Yes. Conversations land in one shared inbox. You can assign a conversation to a person, mark it closed, filter by Open, Unread or Mine, and use saved replies. Anyone with the Text customers permission can reply.
Can customers confirm appointments by text?
Yes. Reminder texts let the customer reply C to confirm the next appointment or R to ask for a call back. R creates a high priority call back task and emails the person it is assigned to.
Can I use the same number for calls and texts?
Yes. If you have the AI Receptionist, texting registers that same Dheed number, and calls keep working while carriers review it.
